A man was gunned down on Sunday morning, April 16, in the area of CSY Dock in Baughers Bay.

Dead is Jefferson Joseph.

Information is sketchy at the moment, however, when BVI Platinum News arrived at the scene, police indicated that they are investigating the shooting, which left one male dead.

BVI Platinum News understands that Joseph, 40, who was a few months ago released from prison, had just exited a night club and was about to enter his vehicle when shots rang out.

Police have cordoned off the area stretching from the Purcell roundabout.

Joseph was scheduled to stand trial in the High Court over allegations that he incited the murder of Melbourne 'Trouble' Francis.

It is alleged that Jefferson offered Andrae Norford, 23, $13,000 to take out Francis. Norford is charged with the murder of Francis.

Francis was fatally wounded on the night of May 9, 2013, where police found his body with multiple gunshot wounds upon arrival at the scene around 8:00 pm that evening.

In February, shots were exchanged between two men outside a night club at CSY Dock, but no one was injured.
