And the scores are in for this year’s grand parade for the 50th anniversary of the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival, recording Speedy’s at the top of two categories.
In what was highlighted as the island’s best parade yet, on Monday, April 17, ferry service, Speedy’s was adjudged winner for the best adult float and the best adult troupe.
The vibrant Pinoy Tribe, presented by the Filipinos living in the Territory, copped second place in the adult troupe category, while Inzane Colours placed third.
For the floats, One BVI came in right behind the winners, while Yacht Habour settled for third.
The children of the Robinson O’Neal Primary School were rewarded with first place, following a great performance, while the children of the BVI Dance Group came in second, and the children of the Bregado Flax Educational Centre came in third.
Bucks Kiddies Tropical Luau, the float that garnered much attention from the crowd on the day of the parade, proved to be the judges' favorite as well, as they were awarded with first place in the children's floats section.
Akuaroots Golden Jubilee came in second.
In the final category, which judged the Mocko Jumbies of the parade, Khoy Sky Dancers took the number one spot, with the Mystic Sky Dancers in second place.
