The Virgin Islands is currently experiencing a mixture of sunny and cloudy conditions following the tropical wave which exited the area yesterday evening.

A combination of local heating with moisture trailing the wave may produce a surge in showers this afternoon. As the Territory´s soil is still heavily saturated, heavy showers from thunderstorms can create more mudslides, cause more rocks to fall and bring greater flooding to roads and poor drainage areas.

Thus, a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until Wednesday evening.

Although the Tropical wave has exited the area, trailing moisture will produce unsettling conditions from time to time on open waters, making open sea operations hazardous.

Therefore, a Small Craft Advisory will remain in effect until late this evening.

Residents and visitors, whether driving or walking, are again reminded to EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION when crossing flooded roadways and other area as they can be very dangerous.
