The Department of Human Resources with the support of the Training Division and the Ministry of Education and Culture hosted a Returning Graduates/Students Transition Forum and Job Fair.
The fair which is now in its fourth year was held recently at the Prospect Reef Resort, Reef House.
The purpose of the event was to provide graduates and students who are scheduled to return to the Territory within one to two years with the information they need to assist with their transition from university and tertiary training into the Virgin Islands workforce.
Representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour including the Land Registry, Labour and Survey Departments, BVI Health Services Authority, BVI Airports Authority, Training Division, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Department of Human Resources made presentations during the forum, and hosted booths during the fair.
The Returning Graduates Forum & Job Fair is one of the many initiatives that support the work of the Strategic Succession Planning Programme, which is aimed at ensuring that a cadre of persons are trained, developed, and prepared to take on roles in critical positions when the need arises.
More information on the Strategic Succession Planning Programme will be available later this month in the soon to be released brochure titled, Succession Planning & ME!
