The Government Information Service (GIS) in a press release on Wednesday morning, disclosed that Governor David Pearey acting on the advice of the Public Service Commission (PSC), is informing the public that the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communications and Works Mr. Julian Willock has been placed on compulsory leave effective immediately.
According to the release, the Governor explained that this is to enable an investigation to be undertaken as of a yet unsubstantiated but serious allegations in the print media.
"Further information will be communicated as to the acting appointment of a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communications and Works," the release stated.
In last week´s edition of the Beacon newspaper, it was reported that Willock was linked to an online news `Virgin Islands News Online´ and it was alleged in the article that overseas reporters had been working in the Territory for the online news without work permits.
